Dear Cherished Members and Friends of Immanuel:Immanuel is rooted and grounded in love – the love of God in Christ and the love we have for one another. This love is deepened as we worship together, and as we grow in Christian discipleship and embrace outreach and justice for a hurting world. We are blessed to welcome cherished newcomers to join our fellowship, ministry, and community. Immanuel needs you! Our community is stronger when each of us shows up and gives of our time, our skills, and resources, always giving back from what God has first given to us.
This year’s Every Member Pledge campaign runs from November 6-20. The theme for this year’s campaign is “Rooted and Grounded in Love and Community.” Immanuel has been challenged by the pandemic, like so many organizations, schools, and businesses. We weathered this unprecedented shock far better than we feared, but we are still regathering and rebuilding. We are at an important point that gives us opportunities to deepen and strengthen our roots and grounding in love and community. Immanuel has a place for you, and for all that you bring! We are called to be the Body of Christ, gathered together in this blessed community. As a Christian community, we are called to constant, deepening gratitude to God for our many blessings, and to respond to the invitation to give back intentionally from those blessings to serve God’s purposes. We reach out to our community and the world through all of our worship, our outreach, our pastoral care, our education and formation, and our ministries for youth, children, and seniors. Our new solar panels and our revitalized, native gardens at Zabriskie Chapel attest to our progress at becoming better stewards of God’s Creation. In short, your support helps Immanuel fulfill its calling – to share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ and the cross that leads us on. Commitment Sunday, on November 20, will be a time to celebrate our promise to the financial support of this vibrant church community. Your pledge allows the Vestry to prepare a financial plan that sets us on a sound, responsible course for the coming year. Please complete and return the enclosed pledge card promptly by mail using the enclosed envelope, by placing it in the offering plate, by email to the church treasurer thewson@icoh.net stating your pledge amount, or by completing the online pledge card on Immanuel’s website at www.icoh.net.
