For those who are planning on attending the outdoor service at 10:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 4, here is more information about what to expect:
All attendees should plan to wear their masks through the entire service. Bring your own seating (chair/blanket) if possible. We encourage anyone inviting guests to bring seating for their guests. We also welcome and hope those who happen to have an extra outdoor chair or two lying around will bring them (well marked with their name) to share for any who happen to drop by! Ushers will be on hand to help you find an appropriately-distanced spot for you or your family group to set up your chairs. Bulletins will be in plentiful supply, but if you wish to print/download your own or follow the service on your device, it can be found here. Bathrooms will be available near Scott Lounge, if needed. Holy Eucharist: All Baptized Christians of any tradition or denomination are invited to receive Holy Communion. Eucharist will be in one kind, which is bread only. It is Anglican / Episcopal theology that the Real Presence of Christ exists entirely in the receiving of each element of the Eucharist — making one kind only a completely faithful response to the ongoing pandemic. It will be received individually on trays in two lines. Each will have gluten free communion wafers available. If you would prefer not to partake for any reason you are welcome to cross your arms over your chest and receive a blessing. If Sunday's outdoor service is cancelled, we will update the Facebook page, the website, and send an email. We will have an offertory box available - an usher can direct you to it - but we will not pass offertory plates, again to limit any incidental contact. You can also continue to give online or mail checks to the church office.
