Dr. Jane Tavernier, D.M.A.
Music Director
Jane Tavernier earned the Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education in organ from Baldwin-Wallace College, the Master of Music in organ from The University of North Texas and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The University of Maryland at College Park.
Dr. Tavernier has taught at colleges in Texas, Colorado, and New Hampshire, and in addition to her duties as Director of Music at Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill, she is also a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at The University of Mary Washington where she is the director of choral activities and teaches course in music and music education. Dr. Tavernier has also performed as a soprano soloist with opera companies, choral societies and orchestras, most recently at The Assisi Music Festival in Assisi, Italy.
She began her ministry at Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill in January of 2009, serving as the director of adult and handbell choirs and organist.
