Dr. Jane Tavernier, D.M.A.
Music Director
Jane Tavernier earned the Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education in organ performance from Baldwin Wallace University followed by the Master of Music, also in organ performance, from The University of North Texas and the Doctor of Musical Arts in solo vocal performance from The University of Maryland, College Park. She has served as Director of Music in several churches in Ohio, Texas and Virginia. She has also served on the music faculties of universities in Colorado, Texas, and Virginia.
Currently she is the Director of Music at Immanuel Church on the Hill in Alexandria, Virginia as well as Adjunct Instructor of Music at The University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Dr. Tavernier has performed as a soprano soloist with opera companies and choral societies throughout the United States and Italy and received favorable reviews for her performances as Queen of the Night in the Magic Flute as well as Violetta in La Traviata among many others. Dr. Tavernier continues to serve as a choral conductor and private teacher.
