A required minimum distribution (RMD) is the minimum amount you must withdraw from your retirement accounts to satisfy federal tax rules. Generally, you are required to start taking withdrawals when you reach age 72. You may instruct your IRA administrator to directly transfer any amount up to $100,000 per year to a qualified charity, such as Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill. A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) can satisfy all or part of your RMD. Learn more about the benefits of giving using a Qualified Charitable Distribution. Before taking any action and for questions about whether your tax-deferred account is eligible, and for other questions, be sure to consult your financial and/or tax advisor to ensure you’re making the right decision for your situation.
