How can I obtain an acknowledgement of non-cash gifts for tax purposes?
Immanuel's Treasurer can provide you with a letter acknowledging a contribution of a non-cash gift, such as for Pumpkin Patch supplies, clothes and toys for Christmas Families, back-to-school Christmas in August supplies, flowers and other items for Sunday services, goods and materials for our Parish Hall or Immanuel Chapel, etc.
Please send your request via email to [email protected], through the USPS mail to the church office, or bring your request to the church office. Your request should include a description of your gift and the date given.
Generally, Immanuel does not establish the value of non-cash gifts, and will not include the value in your acknowledgement letter. However, on a case-by-case basis we may ask for an estimate of an item’s value so that we may include it in our insurance inventory or depreciation schedules. As always, parishioners should consult with their financial and/or tax advisor regarding the specifics of their individual donations, including non-cash gifts.
