Make Baked Treats, Soup, and Apple Crisps for the PatchThe 2024 Pumpkin Patch Bake Sale begins Saturday afternoon, September 28. We will set up the Bake Sale at about 3:00 p.m after the forklifts and trucks have pulled out. You can drop off your contributions in the Parish Hall Kitchen any time before then.
Our wonderful Pumpkin Patch ’24 food coordinators are: Soup: Dorothy Kellogg Apple Crisps: Lisa Frye (Apple crisps will be made in the Parish Hall kitchen on Saturday 19 October and Saturday 26 October) Baked Goods: • Sandhya Augustine, each Fri/Sat/Sun • Sep 30-Oct 4 Kristin Whitman • Oct 7-11 Lisa Clausen • Oct 14-18 Linda Serabian • Oct 21-25 Leah Wilson • Oct 28-31 Jennie Reading Soups Please, only use our 1-quart plastic soup containers and lids, found in labeled boxes in the Zabriskie Parish Hall kitchen. Please make sure you take the same number of lids as containers. IMPORTANT: LEAVE 1–INCH OF HEADSPACE when filling containers to allow for expansion during freezing. Clearly list all ingredients, even broth, on your label. Soups are sold With Meat/Fish and Without Meat/Fish – (for example, a soup with vegetables and beans and chicken broth is considered Without Meat/Fish. If your soup is Vegetarian or Vegan, please label it as such on the ingredient list. Deliver your soups to the Zabriskie kitchen freezer and enter your information on the Soup Log attached to the freezer door. Baked Goods Please make sure your donations are packaged for individual sale and labeled with all ingredients. For cupcakes and muffins, this means that you use a paper baking cup. For other items, please use cellophane wrap, a plastic bag, or a paper bag with a clear window. You can find attractive packaging at Michaels, Party Depot and discount stores like Home Goods. You can use computer-generated adhesive labels from Avery and other office suppliers, or just make your own. Baked goods sell best on the weekends! Plan to bring your goodies early Saturday and Sunday mornings. **Cupcakes sell mainly on weekends-(ideally, please bring cupcakes mainly Friday afternoon, Saturday anytime, Sunday morning.)
